In conjunction with Yokogawa, ExxonMobil has been running an Open Process Automation Standard (O-PAS) development testbed since 2019. The two companies have recently announced the first field trial of a complete open process automation (OPA) system. This session will provide an update on the progress of the OPA technology, the goals of the field trial, the standards development process status, and an overview of the future for OPA systems.
