NPRA is pleased to announce an important one-day workshop: “Meeting the Requirements for the DHS CFATS Security Vulnerability Assessment & Chemical-Terrorism Vulnerability Information Programs.” The workshop is designed specifically for NPRA owners and operators in the petroleum refining and petrochemical manufacturing industries. Taught by seasoned security professionals, the workshop will train facility security officers on how to meet their SVA and CVI responsibilities under the Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards program.

Why attend? Section 550 of the “Homeland Security Appropriations Act, 2007,” provided the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) with authority to regulate security at what are deemed “high risk” chemical facilities in the United States. The law requires these “high risk” facilities to perform Security Vulnerability Assessments (SVAs) and to submit them for approval to DHS. All submissions must be handled in accordance with the requirements of the Chemical-Terrorism Vulnerability Information (CVI) program.
