The 2006 Q&A and Technology Forum is comprised of four types of sessions to give attendees one of the industry's most comprehensive meetings on refinery operations and process technology. The 2006 session descriptions and program outlines are listed below.

The Q&A sessions in FCC, Gasoline Processes, Crude/Vacuum Distillation & Coking, and Hydroprocessing features panels of industry experts who will respond to attendee questions on specific operating and technical challenges facing the refining and petrochemical industries, with special emphasis on process technology advances.

The Principles & Practices sessions will cover the same topics (plus a bonus session for Plant-wide Systems) with a focus on the fundamentals of sound, safe operations and doing the basics well.

The Plant Automation & Decision Support Session is designed by operating companies for operating companies and it is ideal for those individuals who are responsible for plant automation, process control, planning and scheduling, information technology, and modeling/simulation.

Design and Operations Safety Session - The NPRA’s Safety and Health Committee will present a three-hour session on plant safety topics for process engineers, design engineers, and Operations supervisors and managers. The program will consist of presentations, panel discussions, and information sharing by attendees on issues that impact safe operations. The Design and Operations Safety session will cover best practices, lessons learned from recent events, an update of API’s Recommended Practices 752 for siting temporary structures in operating plants, the use of safety instrumented systems, and designing for loss-control.

The conference also includes networking functions sponsored by catalyst, chemical and technology companies which facilitate face-to-face contact with key industry experts. Thank you to the 2006 sponsors: CB&I, Chevron Lummus Global, ExxonMobil Research and Engineering Co., Johnson Matthey Catalysts and Tracerco, Air Products and Technip Hydrogen Alliance
