2024 Walk the Line Industry Sharing Face-To-Face Workshop

Walk the Line

Walk the Line is about providing operators with the tools they need to understand the current operating state of the plant. Those tools are bundled into three pillars of Walk the Line: Operating Culture, Operational Continuity through Operational Discipline and Operational Readiness.

This year’s workshop will provide attendees with a variety of networking and learning opportunities. The general session and breakout sessions will highlight aspects of the following themes:

  • Operations and Maintenance Interactions
  • Leveraging WTL Toolbox with your team
  • Operations Safeguards
  • Conduct of Operations – Back to the Basics
  • Human and Organizational Performance
  • Operating Procedures
  • Hazard Recognition

The goal is for all companies attending to leave with a written Walk the Line plan to bring back to their sites. With this in mind, the format of this year's workshop will be a mixture of small group breakouts and general session presentations. The workshop will kick off with a joint general session with WTL workshop attendees and Training Forum attendees focused on Human and Organizational Performance and how to learn from each other. Followed by presentations from operating companies who will discuss their Walk the Line Journey.

We will also have a technology showcase. This will provide hands-on opportunities for attendees to interact with products that help achieve WTL staples of Operational Discipline, Operating Procedures, Training, etc. Please contact Mawusi Bridges, mbridges@afpm.org, if you would like more information about becoming a sponsor.

Workshop Goals:

  • Tangible takeaways for attendees: training materials, presentations, meeting notes
  • Include resources and time during workshop for companies/sites to develop action plans to bring back to their site

General Session Topics:

  • Keynote Speaker – Jerry Forest, Founder of Walk the Line
  • WTL 101 – Utilizing the WTL Toolbox to begin or enhance your WTL journey
