Description:

Maintenance Planning for Capital Projects (MPCP) is a process that will identify and define maintenance inputs to the capital process at the appropriate time during all phases of a capital project. When used properly, MPCP enhances the reliability and maintainability of your capital assets and ensures effective maintenance systems are developed and ready to function at startup. If cost-effective maintainability is not integrated into the design and construction phases of a project, the risk increases that (1) reliability will be adversely impacted and (2) total life cycle costs will increase significantly. Information from CII (Construction Industry Institute) and data obtained for IPA (Independent Project Analysis) benchmarking studies reinforce the MPCP concept as a way to improve the capital investment process and improve profitability.
