This paper describes the elements for a successful stationary equipment reliability program in a petrochemical facility. The paper addresses management systems, engineering practices, preventive/predictive maintenance/inspection systems, performance metrics and resources. The paper shares the stationary equipment reliability program at Lyondell Chemical Company / Equistar Chemicals, LP a number of best practices developed as part of the reliability program. Also, some success stories and lessons learned are shared. A model stationary equipment reliability program outlined in Attachment 1.0 can be used to evaluate the reliability program at any site. A list of abbreviations used in this paper is provided in Attachment 8.0.
