Description:

Hydroprocessing of intermediate-to-final products continues to offer the refiner the most viable alternative to meeting these future environmental regulations. This, in turn, requires the hydroprocessing catalyst vendor to increase research efforts for development of new catalysts to help meet these future demands, while maintaining some control on refinery economics. This paper describes one such successful experience and the observations made at Marathon Ashland, L.L.C.’s, Canton, Ohio refinery, where a newly-developed CoNiMo based catalyst was installed in their FCC pretreat unit and the performance compared to the previous cycle with a NiMo-based catalyst.
