Koa Oil and KBC have successfully implemented a World Class Planning & Performance Monitoring Solution, employing process monitoring, rigorous calibrated simulation with nonlinear kinetic models, LP data generation/maintenance/validation and Best Practice Linear Programming (LP) structures. This paper summarizes the KBC methodology, its application and presents the impressive value (more than 20 c/bbl on crude) delivered as a result of the implementation. The Solution has built upon the LP upgrade project previously referenced in the paper titled “Building a World-Class LP Model” and presented at the NPRA conference, November 2000 in Chicago, Illinois USA.
