Description:

Increased feed rate and/or unit conversion is one of the most common business objectives for a fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) unit revamp. The majority of FCC units in the US has gone through various stages of modifications, and further increases in feed rate and/or unit conversion often cause the existing units to become catalyst-circulation limited. De-bottlenecking catalyst circulation limitation using conventional technology requires high costs in replacing catalyst transfer lines and slide valves. In some cases, space availability and other limitations of an existing FCC unit further complicate the situation. As a result, there is a clear need for a cost effective revamp solution to de-bottleneck catalyst-circulation limitations.
