Axens has responded to the need for ULSD (ultra low sulfur diesel) and higher severity VGO (vacuum gas oil) hydrotreating by developing a new generation of catalysts utilizing our ACETM (Advanced Catalyst Engineering) technology. This family of catalysts is known as our HR-500 series and contains NiMo, CoMo, and CoMo-Ni catalysts developed for the full range of refinery operations. The new HR-500 series has not only substantially higher levels of HDS (hydrodesulfurization) and HDN (hydrodenitrogenation), but maintains the same outstanding activity stability as our industrially proven HR-400 series. The improved performance of the HR-500 series is achieved while still using standard sulfiding and generation techniques. The worldwide refining industry has responded to our HR-500 series by selecting it for nearly 50 applications since it was first introduced at the ERTC (European Refining Technology Conference) approximately 16 months ago.
