Description:

This paper presents a new technology recently developed by Shell Global Solutions (Shell GS), using strategic regenerator design with catalyst and air distributions for in-situ reduction of NOX emissions from FCC regenerators. The technology can be used as a stand-alone strategy to reduce NOX emissions to as low as < 40 ppm, or in conjunction with one of the existing technologies described above for further reduction of NOX emissions from FCC regenerator flue gas. A case study of a recent successful FCC revamp will also be presented.
