Description:

This paper presents data regarding the carbon/hydrogen content of various crudes and products. Rather than using empirical data, correlations developed by Watson and others have been used for both products (other than pure components) and feedstocks. While measured data may be superior in some situations, high quality data are not readily available for all of the crudes and product mixes considered. Rather than “mix and match,” the author has chosen to use a fit of Figure 2B6.1 of the API data book, which provides reasonable and internally consistent results. Composition for petroleum coke is based on average actual data.
