Description:
A SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) unit was installed on the CITGO Lemont FCCU in 2007 with flue gas entering the unit for the first time in early December 2007. The existing ESPs (Electrostatic Precipitators) were taken out of service resulting in a “high dust” content flue gas SCR design. This required a custom SCR catalyst that would withstand the erosive environment and still perform well over a 5 – year continuous run.
