Description:

The fluid catalytic cracking unit (FCCU) is subject to various environmental regulations and operational standards, including emission limitations established in the Title V operating permit. The Title V permit contains numerous emission limits for specific parameters and requires the permittee to sample the stack to demonstrate compliance regularly. When conducting stack emission sampling, it is critical to ensure that the stack test method provides an accurate representation of the actual stack emissions. Using a test method that does not accurately measure the tested parameter from stack emissions will lead to inaccurate and non-repeatable results. This in turn may create compliance issues in two ways: by creating an inaccurate baseline for establishing emission limitations in the permit or by obtaining test results that do not accurately reflect actual emissions from the stack.
