In summary, C3 International’s technology has been shown to be a potentially viable mitigation of the problem of fouling in Delayed Coker heaters. The bench scale and February 2009 field trial showed significant benefit while the June 2009 field trial was inconclusive. Future work will be focused on field applications where process parameters will be maintained in such a way that the data be repeatable. By extension, the technology can also be applied to other fouling services, such as crude or vacuum heaters, visbreakers, ethylene crackers, and heat exchangers.
