AM-11-50 ADVANCED BIOFUELS: HOW MANY BARRELS WILL U.S. REFINERIES SEE?

Description:

There is no dearth of technologies, start-up companies, and media hype around biofuels. However, how many barrels of advanced biofuels (i.e. second- and, potentially, third-generation) will U.S. Refineries actually see as volumes they will process? We will share our supply curve for advanced biofuels with emphasis on those that will require refinery integration to provide a realistic assessment of the actual volumes that will require processing, their likely insertion points in the refining value chain, resulting processing challenges, economic implications, and suggested coping strategies. These insights will be based on active analysis of over 50 advanced biofuels technologies, nearly 130 project announcements, projections of likely fuel properties, realistic assessment of success probabilities and fuel costs, and projected insertion points and resulting processing challenges. Such a comprehensive analysis of the advanced biofuels landscape has not been completed yet, so the results and insights will be both pioneering and relevant.
