It will be chiefly concerned with two cases: the U.S. Military’s conversion of its weapon systems databases to structured formats, and ExxonMobil Research and Engineering Company’s (EMRE) Emergency Isolation and Response (EIR) technology. They will be assessed according to Toffler’s deep fundamentals and will reveal insights into how de‐synchronization can be averted. The paper will also consider other factors beyond the reduction of de‐synchronization that highlight the importance of tools like the EIR technology. Taken together, the military’s approach and EMRE’s EIR technology demonstrate the value of time‐based strategies for organizational success.
