Last year at this conference I presented the basics of the Advancing Process Safety Site Assessment Program. As a quick refresher the Advancing Process Safety Program was formed by API, AFPM, and industry to improve process safety performance with the goal of preventing process safety events at refineries and chemical plants. API, AFPM, and the industry wanted this effort to be: • Focused on higher risk process safety activities; • Refining & petrochemical focused; • Voluntary; and • An avenue to communicate and share experiences and knowledge.
