Description:

Pressure swing adsorption (PSA) is a well-established process for the separation and purification of a wide range of industrial gases that is safe, reliable and cost effective. In the refining industry, PSA systems are used to produce hydrogen from syngas produced by steam methane reforming (SMR), partial oxidation (POX) or gasification. PSA systems can also be used to recover hydrogen from refinery off gases, capture CO2 and generate oxygen and nitrogen. This paper will provide an overview of PSA technology, design considerations, refinery applications and economic benefits.
