Syncrude Canada Ltd. is one of two synthetic crude oil producing facilities located in the Athabasca Oil Sands region of northeastern Alberta, Canada. The Syncrude operation has a synthetic crude oil production capacity of approximately 165.000 barrels per calendar day (BPCD). With Suncor’s capacity of 65,000 BPCD, the two facilities satisfy about 15 percent of Canada’s refinery petroleum demand.
