Description:

The successful transfer of technology to the refiner requires a strong and continual commitment by the licensor to research, development, and engineering with respect to process design and the catalysts used in that design. UOP and Unocal have been successful in licensing Unicracking technology because both companies are committed to all aspects of the technology. This paper highlights the state of the Unicracking technology in terms of current refining applications and new developments, including the introduction of a new zeolitic catalyst, DHC’-32, for middle distillate production. Examples from commercial operations are used to illustrate different uses of the Unicracking technology in the industry.
