Quality is today’s watchword. Everybody wants quality like everybody wants good weather, but is anybody willing to really do anything about it ? Lyondell Petrochemical and Criterion Catalyst believe they have with a unique customer/supplier relationship. Lyondell and Criterion have been working together informally for a number of years. Recently, we have been formalizing our working arrangement into a quality partnership. One of the key elements is to achieve results through continuous improvements in hydrotreater operations. The working relationship includes frequent feedback of commercial performance information from Lyondell and technical advice regarding unit optimization and new catalyst performance information from Criterion, with a goal of continuous improvement for both companies. The following discussion presents the results to date of our quality partnership, working together to improve Lyondell’s FCCU feed hydrotreating capability.
