Description:

With the successful commercial operation of six plants in propane and isobutane dehydrogenation service, the CATOFIN@ process technology has demonstrated that there are significant commercial and technical benefits in the production of polymergrade propylene and isobutylene feedstock for methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE) production. The CATOFIN technology now adds the capability to co-dehydrogenate propane and isobutane in a single reactor train. CATOFIN co-dehydrogenation offers savings in both production and capital costs compared to separate dehydrogenation units. These savings translate into higher profits. Co-dehydrogenation also provides the flexibility to meet the demands of the complex and changing MTBE and propylene market.
