Description:

Unit operating in full combustion, a new proprietary formulation SOx Emission Control Agent, NO-SOx, was utilized to reduce sulfur dioxide (SOx) emissions. SOx emissions were measured using EPA Method 6 certified test equipment. An accurate relationship between clarified slurry oil (CSO) sulfur and regenerator coke sulfur was established before any SOx reduction occurred to determine the SOx-gettering capabilities of the NO-SOX during the trials. Different levels of sox reduction were targeted to allow construction of a SOx reduction curve. This will provide the refinery with the ability to determine the amount of NO-SOx to add for the appropriate SOx reduction required to keep SOx emissions below permit levels at varying charge rates and feed quality.
