Description:

C, olefins are a source of gasoline components with high vapor pressure and a source of emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOC), nitrogen oxides (NO,) and toxics from gasoline. Although the US. reformulated gasoline (RFG) regulations resulting from the 1990 Clean Air Amendments do not specifically require olefin reduction in gasoline, the latest version of the Complex Model shows that olefin reduction plays an important role in reducing emissions.’ In addition, the olefin level in California gasoline will be restricted to a maximum of 6.0 vol-% per gallon starting in March 1996.
