Description:

This paper describes G2/MESA, a computer program created to minimize the computer expertise and personnel commitment required by a refinery to model and optimize a refinery steam system. This is particularly important in California over the next few years where many refinery plant modifications are required to conform to reformulated gasoline requirements. Modeling these refinery modifications accurately and keeping an on-line model up-to-date will be a significant challenge. This paper will primarily focus on the user interface feature that make G2/MESA easy to use.
