Description:

There is a real feeling of satisfaction in being part of a “happening” that can solve an environmental problem as well as be beneficial to our customers. Environmental pollution caused by diesel engines has long been a major irritant to the general population, if only by seeing that billowing black exhaust that has so typified diesel engine performance. In December of 1994 we visited Stockholm, Sweden and stood outside the airport terminal building waiting for the airport bus. Twelve buses passed by (none going our way, of course) and not one of them was exhausting what we all have grown to disappreciate as “normal” black exhaust. It was obvious that our SynSat licensing efforts had been a success. Both Criterion and Lummus are proud of the industry acceptance of our SynSat process. In fact, in December 1994, the SynSat team comprised of members of Criterion, Lummus and the Shell Westhollow Technology Center was selected by Shell Chemical Company for the Champions of Quality Award for their efforts in the development of the SynSat process. This is the premier quality recognition award given by the Shell Chemical Company to deserving teams and individuals.
