Description:

Fluid Catalvtic Cracking is a valuable refining urocess to upgrade heavv hydrocarbons to hinh valued products[‘l. Over 1,100 tons per day of Fluid Catalytic Cracking Unit (FCCU) catalyst is used worldwide in over 200 FCCUs. During the cracking reaction, catalyst is contaminated by deposited metals from feedstocks which include nickel, vanadium, et al. Deactivation of fresh FCCU catalyst is caused by contaminant blockage of active sites and by steam catalyzed by contaminantst2*“. To compensate for decreased FCCU feedstock conversion and product selectivity, a portion of the circulating catalyst equilibrium inventory is withdrawn for spent catalyst disposal, and fresh catalyst is added to the system.
