Description:

Engelhard has introduced two new FCC catalysts designed for the RESID market. In lab testing MILLENNIUM and ULTRIUM both exhibit excellent selectivity and stability in the presence of contaminant metals and both are excellent in upgrading bottoms to usable products. Commercial experience confirms these lab results. In this paper, we will present both lab and commercial data comparing the two catalysts with state of the art competitive resid catalysts. We will also present microscopy, spectroscopic and porosimetry data which elucidates the mechanisms by which the two catalysts passivate nickel and vanadium.
