Description:

A new, completely novel NExTAME process to produce TAME and heavier ethers was started up in March 1995 at the Neste Porvoo Refinery in Finland. Now this first commercial size unit has been in operation for a year. The purpose of this paper is to discuss operating experiences gathered from a NExTAME unit. In addition further development of NExTAME technology is also discussed briefly. The benefits of NExTAME technology were compared to other FCC light gasoline processing options earlier /l/. The economic studies presented previously are now expanded to a refinery which produces 50 % RFG and 50 % conventional gasoline. This evaluation has been performed with Bechtel Corporation’s proprietary Process Industries Modeling System (PIMS) linear programming software.
