The movement towards further improving diesel fuel quality and associated specifications appears to be continuing in many parts of the world. Cost’effective solutions for the production of the diesel fuel that can meet the various specifications is essential. SynSat technology for diesel hydroprocessing has proven by commercial experience that various diesel qualities and processing objectives can be achieved through the revamp of existing low pressure units. This paper presents commercial experience with SynSat technology, while presenting how SynSat and SynShifI technology can be used to the refiners advantage to upgrade poor quality feedstocks for both yield benefits and quality improvement.
