Description:

LYONDELL-CITGO Refining Company (LCR) and Criterion Catalyst Company L.P. (Criterion) have profited from many years of mutual involvement in the application of fuels hydroprocessing, lube oil, and naphtha reforming technologies through the dedicated efforts made possible by a joint Quality Supply Agreement. The seeds of the current improvement efforts documented in this paper were planted in 1989 and formally enacted in 1991 just prior to the formation of the LCR venture. The Quality Supply Agreement involves a broad-based effort to maximize the expertise and efforts of both organizations to yield innovative solutions to LCR’s refining challenges. The concept, since pursued, is one of leveraging the catalyst supplier’s experience in problem solving to the benefit of the catalyst user in their quest to improve margins and viability. Many examples of the benefits of joint cooperation have been documented since that time.
