The OctanizingR and AromizingTM continuous regenerative reforming processes now benefit from two major developments: a “dry burn loop” and an advanced design regenerator, RegenCTM”. The dry burn loop currently employed in commercial units confirms the positive impact of this system on catalyst life, hence on the economics. In addition, the RegenC regenerator equipped with the dry burn loop enables higher burning flexibility and reliability through a proprietary oxygen and temperature modulation system which.provides for complete coke elimination before oxychlorination. Moreover, a separation of the burn and oxychlorination loops assures complete restoration of platinum dispersion and catalyst performance by optimizing the oxychlorination parameters. As a result, superior and steady yields are obtained throughout the operating lifetime of the catalyst. With this advanced regenerator, costing no more than a conventional system, annual catalyst costs are reduced by 30 to 70%. Four RegenC units are currently under various stages of engineering and construction.
