Description:

The major environmental pollutants from burning coke in the FCCU regenerator include carbon monoxide (CO), sulfur oxides (SO,), and nitrogen oxides (NO,). Both CO and SOx emissions can be catalytically controlled to a low level using relatively small amounts of platinum-based Grace Davison combustion promoters and DESOXTM respectively. Until recently, there was no catalytic solution for control of NOx emissions from the fluid catalytic cracking unit (FCCU).
