From November 1995 through February 1998, Pennzoil Products Company (now Pennzoil-Quaker State Company) embarked on an aggressive effort to implement a sophisticated integrated software package called SAP R/3 on an NT SQL server client server platform for its downstream Manufacturing and Consumer Products business segments. This paper will explain the project structure and phases of implementation and highlight the “lessons learned” from our implementation of such an extensive suite of software on a relatively new technical infrastructure.
