Description:

Multiple layers in catalyst loading are now currently applied for pressure drop management in diesel hydrotreaters but are generally limited to the top of the reactor bed. Acreon Catalysts' newest products are now able to achieve either a progressive shape and size grading to limit the pressure drop build up, or an adapted catalyst hydrogenation activity evolution as a function of the advancement of the required reactions. The selection of the catalyst system should be developed only after discussing with the refinery to take into account their experience, the feedstock structure and the main targets of the hydrotreating unit. A large array of carriers with different alumina types, pore distributions, sizes and shapes associated with different types and quantity of metals and promoters allows optimizing the complete catalyst system to achieve the specified performances with the lowest cost and the longest runs.
