The paper introduces a new catalyst and a process for removing mercaptan in hydrogen atmosphere. The pilot plant test indicated that the catalyst had high activity & good stability and was adaptable for different feedstocks. The process showed the following features: mild operating conditions, flexible and convenient operation, lower investment and operating cost and no waste residue. The technology will soon be commercialized in China.
