Description:

Over the past several years, the concept of extending into petrochemicals has become of interest to many U.S. refiners. While a few companies operate truly integrated refining/petrochemical complexes, many others have “dabbled” on the edges of the petrochemical business, selling small volumes of petrochemical intermediates. The focus of this paper is on the latter type of refiner and interface projects -- not on building a world scale ethylene cracker inside a refinery.
