Description:

The No.2 FCCU located in the Caltex (NSW) refinery is a 1960’s vintage UOP side by side unit. The unit was originally designed as a bed cracker and came onstream 1961. The unit was equipped with a hot wall riser and reactor as well as a hot wall stripper and spent catalyst standpipe. The regenerator design included tangential spent catalyst entry. Regeneration air was injected through an alloy pipe grid. Regenerated catalyst was withdrawn from the regenerator bed above the air grid, and the regenerated catalyst standpipe passed through the air distributor.
