Description:

A new method will be shown of finding and displaying the multi-variable operating zone for an industrial process. In a single picture, this shows the operator the current values of the many process variables (e.g., temperatures, flowrates, pressures) that describe the current state of the process, together with the available range around the current values within which it is possible to make good product meeting pre-set specifications, emission limits, economic limits, safety limits or good-practice operational limits. The multivariable operating zone is derived from existing historical data without requiring either a first-principles process model or an expensive series of process identification experiments. This makes it an affordable and maintainable solution even for relatively small plants.
