A study was conducted at a major refinery in Africa around the overall information architecture from the DCS to the planning systems. The study focused on the systems and implementation strategy required to facilitate an efficient and transparent process for the management of hydrocarbons within the refinery. It included (by business function), an analysis of the current situation (‘AS-IS’), the recommended target position (‘TO-BE’), and an integration strategy and an implementation roadmap based on a bottom up strategy.
