The Olympus Initiative targets establishing a “living” system that enables our people to capture, share, enhance, and expand our organization’s knowledge by the use of advanced information technologies. The initiative is sensitive to the fabric of existing business processes - it is “ecologically” sound and holistic in nature. Olympus enables existing processes to help themselves achieve a much higher capacity to learn and evolve naturally. The system is primarily Microsoft@ based products with NT based servers using lntranet technologies for delivery. Three containers for knowledge are targeted. Documents - including multimedia, graphics, and narrative. Software - including simulation, advanced scientific applications, and more conventional engineering tools. And, most critical, our people and our strategic business partners.
