Description:

In October of 1995, the Caltex Philippines Inc. Batangas Refinery decided to license and implement a scheduling and blending system based on several factors: . Diversity of imported crudes . Need to optimize crude freight l Refinery operations becoming more complex and the need to maximize performance . Need for better optimization of Blend Stocks . Advances in computer technology made scheduling more practical An additional requirement was to have the system implemented in two months. The Batangas Refinery selected Ernst & Young/Wright Killen’s TRIOSTM and WKBLEA?DTM software as its scheduling system. The implementation was completed in December 1995 which resulted in improving refinery profitability over three quarters of a million (US$) dollars through a more efficient scheduling and planning process.
