This paper describes the development of an integrated production scheduling system (SIPP) implemented at the PETROBRAS REVAP refinery, located in Sao Jo& dos Campos, !%o Paulo, Brazil. The purpose of the software is to develop a schedule in order to allocate throughout time the operations of an entire refinery, ranging from crude receipt to products lifting. The scheduling decisions are based on local planning information and involve all tanks and process units. The integration with other refinery applications and databases, the functionalities of the system and the automated features using expert systems and mixed integer optimization techniques will be presented. Also the development environment, the main results of system utilization, and future plans are discussed.
