Description:

Group Environmental Management Company (GEM), a BP subsidiary, has worked with their remediation consultants (known as Alliance Partners) to develop a series of HSE practices designed to: · Clearly convey expectations to contractor employees; · Effectively share information across all levels of the organization; and · Transform HSE “data” into useful “information”. These goals are being achieved through implementation of a “getting HSE right” (gHSEr) management system. Implementation of the gHSEr system was also leveraged to achieve ISO 14001 certification for GEM’s Refining Portfolio. An additional GEM portfolio obtained ISO 14001 certification in late 2002, and more are being scheduled for certification in 2003 and beyond. The following sections highlight: · The approach that GEM Refining takes to drive HSE performance, and · The approach that RETEC has taken to support and meet their client’s expectations
