Description:

Over the last few years, companies have invested significant effort and resources in implementing and maintaining systems to manage environmental information. Texas Petrochemicals, LP (TPC) has adopted a unique approach in the development and implementation of its Compliance Assurance Management System (CAMS). The system uses an off-the-shelf software application to manage Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) data allowing the company to leverage existing technology employed to run the various aspects of its business. TPC’s CAMS permits users to easily access EHS information customized to their needs via a secured portal on the company’s intranet. The system makes extensive use of data in an existing plant historian data repository to verify compliance, estimate emissions, and generate alerts. The system has delivered streamlined compliance capabilities to the EHS department and generated value for the company. The presentation will focus on the phased methodology followed by TPC and ERM to deliver the solution and will discuss the qualitative and quantitative benefits derived from the system.
