Description:

A automated data acquisition, handling, and reporting system (DAHS) solution was needed to match current work processes and to address the resource demands resulting from the increase number of CEMS and Title V compliance tracking obligations. The departments most impacted were the Maintenance Analyzer Group (CEMS maintenance), Environmental Protection Department (reporting and recordkeeping), and the Operations Engineering Department (emission calculations). The Automation Department participated in finding a solution, insuring compatibility with existing information system, and eventually assisting in critical implementation / system maintenance functions. This paper discusses project development and execution as well as important lessons learned from system implementation and configuration. A prior NPRA paper (ENV-05-187) discusses the justification and selection in more detail.
