Description:
There simply may not be enough workers to fill all jobs in a growing American economy. The American Workplace Report 2002 published by the Employment Policy Foundation indicates that while our work force is currently approximately in balance, there will be a deficit of about 3 million employees in 2010 growing to a deficit of more than 10 million available employees by 2020. This paper analyzes the deomographic data, combines it with a number of observations of what companies are doing about this problem and formulates a set of “good practices” that should be considered by corporate, plant and environmental managers.
