Description:

This presentation examines the sources of errors associated with the emission testing methods required to demonstrate compliance with NSPS for refineries. An Ishikawa diagram is used to identify sources of error for emission testing methods. Emission data are then calculated to demonstrate the effect of individual and cumulative errors on emission testing results. This analysis demonstrates that a 10 percent error in a single measurement component can produce a 5 to 20 percent error in reported results, depending on the measurement component in error.
