This paper discusses the issue of true vapor pressure (TVP) determination for shale oils. Improved accuracy in the determination of TVP is important for two reasons. One is the potential to unnecessarily disallow the storage of shale oils in floating-roof tanks if the TVP is significantly overstated, and the other is the potential for safety concerns if the TVP is significantly understated.
